About Kata Scuba
Kata Scuba is a PADI Scuba Dive Shop located in Phuket and we’re approximately 200 meters from Kata Beach front. We are a small family run business catering to new and experienced divers. We offer All PADI Courses in Phuket
Since we opened in December 2012 and though Kata Scuba may be a relatively new company in Phuket, our staff has many years of experience within the scuba diving community.
Kata Scuba has been set up with many aims in mind; from providing good customer service, promoting diver safety, education, environmental awareness and conservation, creating jobs, to just wanting to share our love of scuba diving. There are too many to list!
We always strive to offer the best experiences and honest advice based on your individual needs. Whether its about scuba equipment, diver education, local dive-sites, marine life or just where to get good local food. We also offer All PADI Courses in Phuket.
Hi my real name is Kritsada but everyone calls me by my Thai nick name “Bank”.
Inspired by my Dad, I have been diving since the age of 12 (which was the youngest possible age at the time). I took my PADI Open Water diver course right here on Kata Beach, Phuket. Whenever I had summer holidays I would return and continue my SCUBA diving education, by the age of 15 I was already a PADI Rescue Diver.
After my studies in the UK I came back to our home in Phuket and decided to try the Divemaster course in 2008, I enjoyed it so much that I knew I had found a passion.
After successfully completing the Instructors Development Course and the Instructor Exam in 2009, I decided to be a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor full time. I have worked for various well known companies as an Instructor and a Dive Boat Leader.
I decided to open Kata Scuba because I wanted a chance to encourage more people to dive, locals and foreigners alike. I want people to see and experience underwater so that they will love it and protect it. Being a Thai citizen with a European background I believe that I can help to promote environmental awareness in Thailand and be the link between Thai and Foreign divers.
Having taught well over 300 students, I still love teaching PADI courses and I try to do as many as possible. Even though the Kata Scuba dive shop takes away a lot of my time from the water.
My name is Andre. I started diving in 1974 in Indonesia. Did there 2 stars CMAS
Later I dived in the Mediterranean, Trinidad and Tobaco, Papua NewGuinea and many other places.
In 1995 I did my PADI Divemaster Course in Phuket and since then I have been diving mainly in this area.
To do my instructors examination?I decided to leave that for the youngsters!
After more than 3,000 dives I had to stop diving for medical reasons. A decision which had to be made but still regretted! Although retired I still enjoy being involved in the diving industry together with my son (Bank) at Kata Scuba.
